The only thing i can think of is that they would be overly-protective of small children. i recently got a GSD pup, and he loves my little brother and I. We aren't young kids, being 13 and 10, but i would definately put a German shepherd before a schnauzer! i find that they became irritated too easily and snap, sort of like a chihuahua.. please don't take any offence to this, it is just my opinion. Because its a vary smart animal. Numder 3 in the smartests dog breeds in the world.Any ways ive been around a lot of german shepherds. There rilly nice pets.Ive never seen them chase small animals befor.
